Spotifys vd Daniel Ek tror att chansen är stor att Apple godkänner bolagets Iphoneapp. Men han tror ändå att Googles mobilplattform Android kommer bli viktigare för musiktjänstens framgång. Det avslöjade han nyligen när Veckans Affärer tillsammans med många andra intervjuade den eftertraktade entreprenören på Twitter.

En av de hetaste frågorna för Spotify just nu är deras Iphoneapplikation som snart ska lanseras. Men först måste Apple godkänna den, trots att den egentligen är ett hot mot Apples egna musikbutik Itunes. Men chansen att det sker är stor, svarade Daniel Ek när signaturen slanemyr frågade:
"Jag hoppas och tror de är rätt stora eftersom vi följt Apples guidelines väldigt noga", skrev han, eldsjal på Twitter.

När VA frågar om hur viktig Iphoneappen är för att få fart på Spotifys betaltjänst var dock svaret mer tveksamt:
"Det är en fantastisk plattform som potentiellt kan bli enormt stor. Men personligen tror jag Android kommer visa sig vara minst lika viktig."

Det var i fredags kväll som Daniel Ek, uppenbarligen helt spontant, gick ut på Twitter och sade att han var beredd på att svara på frågor. I samtalet som följde berättade han bland annat det största hotet mot bolaget är att "vi inte genererar intäkter nog åt artisterna" så att de inte ser oss som en livskraftig plattform.
När VA frågade om avtalen med skivbolagen var svaret att de är "flexibla" men att man fortfarande måste bevisa att gratismodellen fungerar. Daniel Ek spekulerade också kring om ifall "gratis" kan vara ett hot mot betaltjänsten, men att betaltjänsten ger bättre intäkter.

Överlag anser han dock inte att musik ska betraktas som gratis, men sedan är frågan om lyssnarna betalar via annonser, sina bredbandsoperatör eller kopplingar till andra varumärken.

Daniel Ek ville inte ge några kommentarer om de uppgifter kring en nyemission på 50 miljoner dollar som cirkulerat, utan konstaterade att han förvånades av nivån på dagens journalistik och att en artikel idag består av "minst 30 procent bullshit".

Den unga entreprenören avfärdade också snacket om att Spotify skulle satsa på film som en journalistgroda.

"Jag fick en fråga om vi kunde stödja video och sa ja, men det är inte en kärnfråga idag."

Många frågade om ifall Spotify planerade communityfunktioner, rekommendationer, radio eller bättre integration med användarnas egna låtar, som de har på hårddisken. Några exakta svar ville han inte ge, men lovade att man "har en massa coola saker på gång i labbet."
"Vi tittar definitivt på att göra det enklare att dela med sig av och utforska sina vänner musik. Jag växte upp med Napster."

Han betonade dock att bolaget ska fokusera på att erbjuda musik, annat får andra gärna bidra med, förslagsvis via Spotifys programmeringsgränssnitt, som kommer att öppnas upp.
